Supporting Pride Organizations Across Canada with Communications and Media Relations Strategy

Amidst rising hate against 2SLGBTQI+ communities, Pride organizations in Canada have faced increased opposition, discrimination, and challenges.
CASE STUDY
As the 2023 summer pride season began, Fierté Canada Pride received a large number of questions from their members related to communications and media issues, particularly on how Prides can navigate communications in this increasingly challenging environment.
In response, Fierté Canada Pride is creating a new series of free drop-in ‘Communications and Media Advisory Office Hours’ hosted by Kathryn from LeBlanc (& co.) during the summer 2023 Pride season.
Everyone deserves to feel respected and safe when they go to Pride, but unfortunately the current climate is challenging for Prides — and for all 2SLGBTQI+ communities. LeBlanc (& co.) is proud to play a role in equipping Prides across Canada to grow their capacity in media and communications.
FIERTÉ CANADA PRIDE MEMBERS CAN LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS PROGRAM AND PLAN TO ATTEND SESSIONS BY VISITING THE FCP WEBSITE.
As a communications expert and consultant, Kathryn helps nonprofits establish communications plans and messaging that furthers their causes, and helps fulfill their missions. Prior to establishing LeBlanc (& co.) Communications, Kathryn worked as a Press Secretary on Parliament hill and was the Director of Communications and Policy at the Enchanté Network. With experience in both proactive and reactive media relations, Kathryn is helping Pride organizations navigate media and communications during Pride season.
