Using Communications to Build Healthy Communities With the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association

The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association works to build vibrant, healthy, and resilient communities across Canada.
The Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) advocates on behalf of the recreation and parks sector in Canada. Their work shows how Canada can build healthier and more vibrant communities through recognizing and investing in the power of recreation and parks.
The CPRA team came to us for help because they knew that they needed robust, effective communications and branding in order reach their full potential, particularly in their advocacy and member engagement work.
CASE STUDY
When the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association wanted to strengthen their communications strategy, messaging, and branding, they turned to LeBlanc (& co.) Communications for support. CPRA first engaged us for strategic communications support and then we expanded our partnership to include a simple refresh of their existing brand identity.
In 2023, we supported the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association by writing their new Communications Strategy and Message Guide, which included tailored messaging created to bolster their federal advocacy work. We helped CPRA identify the areas that would allow them to move the needle the most in the communications, like telling a clear story and presenting a refreshed, cohesive version of their brand identity.
LeBlanc (& co.) Communications continued our partnership with CPRA in early 2024 by offering brand design support, in the form of a brand refresh, in order to create a small but mighty brand guide and a suite of branded materials for their team. Their team sought to build out a more robust “look and feel” in addition to updating the font in their logo.
With the dedication and experience of their team, coupled with the power of the recreation and parks sector in Canada, CPRA is well-equipped to effectively advance their mission and advocacy priorities. Parks and recreation play an important role in building healthy, vibrant communities — and through working with CPRA, we were thrilled to play a role in supporting their mission.
