CASE STUDY

The 519 is Canada’s largest 2SLGBTQI+ organization.

After several years of growth and a challenging pandemic, The 519 needed to ensure that their communications strategy could support the organization’s new growth. As a large nonprofit, The 519 has to manage marketing and communications for a wide range of activities – such as programs, fundraising, and advocacy.

Building an impactful and effective communications
strategy for the 519

By collaborating with The 519, our goal was to streamline the marketing needs of a busy organization — while making more room for their key stories to shine.

As The 519 is a pillar in Toronto’s queer community, the organization already had a large social media following, strong ties with the local community and media, and an established reputation.

Through creating The 519’s new communications plan, we took stock of the organization’s strengths and opportunities for growth in communications. This allowed The 519 team to prepare to meet organizational growth, like a wide range of programs, while ensuring that their key stories shined through.

Given that The 519 does incredible work in their community, this project was a pleasure to work on.
